Hire a private chef for an amazing private cooking lesson experience

What about a private cooking lesson for a fun group event or family activity!

All of our private chefs are passionate about their craft and love sharing their secrets with customers. Learn the basics of traditional European cuisine or try your hand at something more exotic like Thai or Peruvian. Best of all you get to enjoy eating what you make!

The sky is the limit as to what you can do. We have run everything from pasta making to sushi preparation. Classes can be small intimate affairs for couples or larger events for groups of friends or a family.

Just give us an idea of what you would like to learn and then let our chefs propose a program for you. The only thing to keep in mind is the size of your kitchen for hosting the event, and whether you want it more serious or fun.

The best private chefs

We only accept the best! All Chefs have been background checked, interviewed and had their work reviewed.

In addition to being great cooks, our chefs have also been chosen for their interpersonal skills - a very important ingredient in making your dinner a success!

Meet some of our chefs below

Washington DC - DMV

Randall has a wealth of experience from over 15 years in the restaurant industry, trained in both traditional European and Modern fusion cuisines. He is loved by his clients (5 star rating) for both the creativity of his food and the atmosphere he creates wherever he cooks. He is hard to pin down on a signature dish but we think his Pork belly, Sweet corn and Clam pasta is amazing.

New York
Josh is a experienced chef, with over 15 years fine dining restaurant experience across the USA and abroad. He also loves to travel, having explored the local gastronomy in over 40 countries. This comes through in his truly world approach to food. While not keen to name a Signature dish, we think his ceviche is amazing

Washington DC - DMV

Meg is a classically trained chef with experience across the US after stints in NYC and Las Vegas. Since arriving in DC, she has blown away every customer with both her food and generosity as a personal chef. Words such as "divine", "heaven" and "awesome" jump out in her customer reviews. Her signature style is amazing desserts.

Juan Carlos

Food is life for Juan Carlos and you can see and taste it in his food. Starting as a bus boy at 17, he has moved his way up to Executive Chef in a number of restaurants, and now focuses on teaching in leading private cooking school. Hard to pin down on a style, his food is a beautiful fusion of traditional European, Latin American and Fusion.

New York and Connecticut
Massimo was born in Italy and is a graduate of the Marco Polo Culinary Institute in Genoa, Italy. He has 30+ years experience as a chef, including stints at the Savoy Hotel in London, Louis XII in Monaco, Tre Merli bistro in NYC and Palio Restorante in Long island. His signature dish is fresh made pasta.

Micah has trained at the French Culinary Institute and has over 15 years experience as a chef, but that's not all. Before becoming a chef he served as a marine, and he also has experience as a food stylist (as you will see from his portfolio photos). He loves to cook a mix of French and Modern American. His signature dish is Amaranth stuffed tomato.

Where we serve

About us

We believe that great experiences happen over food, and that few things are more authentic than a meal cooked in your own home.

Celebrities such as Jamie Oliver are getting everyone more excited about cooking and entertaining at home. And TV shows like Masterchef, as well as food bloggers, are pushing amateurs to become amazing chefs.

This got us wondering:

  • How can those of us who are a little short on time experience a great meal at home that is a little more authentic than a Blue Apron meal kit or catering company?
  • And, where can chefs practice their passion if they don’t want to work the traditional 6 days a week in a restaurant or give up their day jobs?

Our solution is Table at Home. We have made it easy to hire a top independent private chef to cook for you in your home. Whether it is for a nice dinner party, private cooking lessons or a regular family meal. Posting a request only takes minutes, and we have taken the guesswork out of choosing a personal chef with customer reviews and photos of chefs’ creations.

If you love the convenience of sharing economy sites like AirBnB and Uber, we think you will love the experience of hiring a private chef with Table at Home.
