SouthernHi My name is Abyssinia. It’s a pleasure to virtually meet you with hopes to be your new favorite personal chef! Let me tell you a little about myself, I was born in New York and raised in Florida. I started cooking at a very young age, always being drawn to the kitchen I’d say i’ve picked up a few skills.
I received a bachelors degree in Culinary Arts & Food service management from Johnson & Wales University. During my time at JWU I also studied pastry arts. Eager to learn every aspect of the culinary world, I traveled to Germany & studied wine. Since then, New York has welcomed me back home & I am currently working as a personal chef serving families in New York City & New Jersey.
Over the years I’ve trained in some of the best restaurants & hotels in Miami & New York. With a Caribbean background and a love for bright colors, fruits & vegetables, a lot of my food is drawn in an artistic direction. I love to be vibrant & playful with the dishes I create. In my past time I find myself recipe testing, always looking for ways to wow my next client. I am capable of preparing various cuisines. Some of my favorites are Caribbean, Mexican, Southern & Italian. Dietary restrictions? Not a problem, I would love to create a menu for you!

Chef Abyssinia was phenomenal! She arrived on-time and brought a great attitude! She made herself available to chat with everyone that she encountered - all while cooking!
She set the table and introduced each course eloquently. She allowed each guest to ask questions and while preparing the next course, she allowed guests to eat and mingle without interruption.
Lastly, she left the kitchen in better condition than she when she came! You wouldn’t have known that a chef spent two hours preparing a four course meal for 12 adults!
Conclusively, Chef Abyssinia was a pleasure to work with and we will definitely at her to our short list when we need her!
